Giclee print of an antique engraving of American Birds consisting of Great Blue Heron, Yellow-crowned Heron, American Bittern and Least Bittern. Printed on acid free cotton rag paper with archival inks. The birds were from a book on the birds of North America but are less know due to the fact it was overshadowed by John J. Audubon's Birds of North America that were published just a few short years after this book. This image was illustrated by Alexander Wilson and hand colored with water color at the time it was published around 1832. The original image was scanned and edited by CFA Editions and is a beautiful example of early American Natural History Studies. This new reproduction print is the highest quality reproduction on the market and the colors are not only gorgeous but also have a light fastness of 160 years (aka will not fade for a long time) It measures 40 inches wide and 52 inches tall.
