Early American Spoonbill and Shore Birds Illustration by A. Wilson White Background (Cfa-Wd)

The birds were from a book on the birds of North America but are less known due to the fact it was overshadowed by John J. Audubon's Birds of North America that were published just a few short years after this book. This image was illustrated by Alexander Wilson and hand colored with watercolor at the time it was published around 1832. The original image was scanned and edited by CFA Editions and is a beautiful example of early American Natural History Studies.

This new reproduction print is the highest quality reproduction on the market and the colors are not only gorgeous but also have a light fastness of 160 years (aka will not fade for a long time). Due to popular request, the colors have been changed so that the cream colored paper now matches closely to the well known paint color by Benjamin Moore (White Dove OC-17).

It measures 40 inches wide and 52 inches tall.
